A new hope for vitiligo's suffering patients

Recently published in the Journal of Dermatological Science, the paper "Role of alpha5beta1 and MIA (melanoma inhibitory activity) in the pathogenesis of vitiligo" revealed to the world a new way to consider vitiligo.

The Italian research group led by Matteo Bordignon (MD, PhD) discovered the presence of a single protein called MIA (Melanoma Inhibitory Activity) as the possible real pathogenetic step for vitiligo development.

These findings open new possibilities to finally achieve a cure for 100 millions of worldwide spread patients suffering for this disfiguring disease.
